I’m Rob – Father, Husband, Entrepreneur, Advisor, Mentor

My journey to a successful exit began when I was a kid. I learned what owning a business meant from my parents who owned a beach club for as long as I can remember. I spent my childhood hanging around my father as he managed the beach club year-round while teaching full-time.

Business ownership is rough. From the outside, it appears only easy and rewarding. But, in reality, it’s grueling. Customers don’t appreciate what you go through to ensure a great experience. As a kid, I remember noticing how little customers knew about behind the scene things. My father once endured burning through his clothes as he handled a pool chlorine accident so we could open the pool on a hot Saturday in the summer!

After attending Wharton, I searched for the right job for many years, but there was no avoiding entrepreneurship. It was in my blood. I eventually found my calling, launching a SaaS business, OnSIP, with two partners. Fifteen years, fifty employees, and thousands of customers later, we sold OnSIP to a large private equity firm.

Along the way, I had a family (see photo above) without whom I could not have succeeded. A business owner once told me that success is unlikely without complete support from family. No matter what, he said, there will come a time when it all goes south. You need people who will pick you up when you most need it. I got that from my wife and three boys!

I enjoyed the voyage from nothing to something immensely. Now, I want to help others who are on similar journeys. I hope you will reach out to me. Maybe I can help you avoid a dangerous chlorine incident!
